
Relocation and Leadership Development (Genrad Inc, Phoenix)
Roy Dawson worked with the facilities and engineering executives to build and relocate a $30 million dollar electronics plant from south Phoenix to North Phoenix. We implemented very successfully various leadership development programs. The project was completed with minimum costs and almost no employee loss.
International Executive Searches (United Technologies Corporation/UTC)
Roy Dawson led the development of the corporate works council agreement of UTC for all European operations. This entailed resolving the legal issues for multiple country businesses and the corporate labor requirements, while ensuring compliance with the European Union labor laws. In addition, we were responsible for an organizational re-design involving leaders representing 4 European countries. The activity was designed to reveal organizational/ business and leadership challenges. The process of discovery was followed by consensus recomm-endations for business organizational and leadership changes, resulting in successful searches and hires not only in Europe, but also in Asia (China/ Singapore/Taiwan).
Integration of Educational Leadership (Los Angeles Unified School District)
Roy Dawson was responsible for positioning the first African American High School Principal in Los Angeles Unified School District. This development initiated weeks of student and community demonstrations for racial and educational equity in the school system which resulted into a new phase of diversity development and integration
